English and Continental Literature

English Literature covers all centuries and all themes, from examples of early printing by Caxton and Wynkyn de Worde to 17th century religious tracts: bibles, early novels and threedeckers; library sets in fine bindings; landmark authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, the Bronte sisters, and historical figures from Sir Walter Raleigh, Florence Nightingale, and the Duke of Wellington to Sir Winston Churchill. The rich tapestry of Continental Books encompasses early books printed in Greek and Latin, literary and historical works of the 15th to 20th centuries in continental European languages and examples of fine printing and bindings from across the same period. Examples date from the dawn of printing to the highest of literary achievements to works on Wine, Gardening, and Economics to name but a few.
