Timothy Clowes

Timothy Clowes was an insurance broker at Lloyd’s of London insurance market all of his career. He formed his own firm in 1977 and built an enviable reputation for creating bespoke insurance coverage for the motorsport industry, particularly for drivers and the governing body of the sport. That legacy continues today.

He had numerous hobbies and had boundless energy. His passion was collecting, particularly exquisite portrait miniatures, but other collectibles such as fine British watercolours, jade, ivory and the like formed part of his vast collection over many decades. He was a member of the Fire Mark Circle and contributed greatly to this cause.

He enjoyed horsepower, motor racing and travelling the world supporting his clients - and he owned his own national hunt racehorses and was always excited to see them race. 

We are delighted to offer at auction such beautiful pieces that Tim collected over his lifetime.
