On Thursday 10 September, we held our auction of Fine Clocks, Barometers & Scientific Instruments, bringing together an exceptional range of horological and scientific objects spanning centuries of technical innovation, craftsmanship and historical significance. The curated sale achieved a total of £639,700, which represented 163% of the presale estimate.

Highlights included Part I of the Dr. John A. Robey Collection, featuring rare European weight driven and lantern clocks, alongside a group of RAF and Royal Observer Corps timepieces and map plotting equipment used during the Second World War.

Among the most significant lots was an important Charles I gold and champlevé enamel mounted rock crystal pendant watch, made by John Snow of Salisbury circa 1625–30. An exceptionally rare survival, it demonstrates the technical and artistic ambition of early English watchmaking.
