On Tuesday 17 February, Dreweatts held its Fine Silver & the Art of Dining auction, offering a distinguished selection of iconic silverware, modern luxury porcelain and glassware, including a notable private collection of Anglo-French silver. The auction expanded the audience for antique and period silver, attracting new buyers and more than 700 registered bidders from 35 countries worldwide, the sale was a great success, totalling £912,000 and achieving 225% of the presale estimate.

Commenting on the results, James Nicholson, Head of Dreweatts’ Luxury Department, said, “There was competitive bidding across the board, from the interest in early academic pieces to bold, statement works for the modern dining table, which drove the hammer total to more than double the pre-sale auction estimate, underscoring the sale’s broad international appeal and buoyant market confidence."
