Dreweatts is delighted to be offering the exceptional private collection of the eminent architect Sir William Whitfield CBE in a flagship two day sale on Tuesday 10 & Wednesday 11 March 2020. To celebrate the auction, Dreweatts, Savills and J.M Finn hosted a preview and panel discussion at Donnington Priory on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
Carole Annett of Country & Town House magazine led the discussion with Daniel Slowik of Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, eminent architect Francis Terry and Lindsay Cuthill of Savills.
The theme of the discussion was ‘Embracing the Architectural in Modern Interiors’ and topics ranged from ‘architectural details for the home’ and ‘the new generation of aesthete’, to ‘arranging your portraits’ and ‘the concept of taste’. The event was also an opportunity to showcase the fabulous room sets curated by Daniel Slowik of Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler, whilst also inspiring and informing the unconfident buyer how to style their homes.
“The evening was a great success with a full house...we were lucky enough to have such an eminent panel who are at the forefront of all aspects of ‘the home’, from building to decorating and ultimately selling” - Joe Robinson, Head of Sale - The Collection of Sir William Whitfield, CBE
With the combination of such a unique event, collaboration and location, the stage is set for next week’s sale of this exceptional collection belonging to Sir William Whitfield CBE, to be offered at auction by Dreweatts at Donnington Priory on 10-11 March.
