Luke McGurk completed his BA in History of Art at the University of Leicester and went on to gain his MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art, where he focused on late 19th- and early 20th-century European and American city painting. He began his career at a Midlands auction house as an assistant, where his passion for the auction world took root.
Luke joined Dreweatts’ Modern Design and Decorative Art department in October 2024 and has since worked on numerous sales, including achieving a UK record for a David Linley humidor, which sold for £47,700. He has a particular interest in contemporary design and studio pottery.
