Dreweatts has a long-standing connection to Newbury and the surrounding areas, having established our business here in 1759. We are passionate about supporting local charities and contributing meaningfully to our local community. As such, this year, we are proud to sponsor Newbury Pride 2025 and the work of its committee and volunteers.
This year, Newbury Pride will take place on Saturday 12 July. The event begins with a march starting from Bartholomew Street and concludes at Victoria Park, where attendees can enjoy a full programme of entertainment. Highlights include two stages with live music, food and drink stalls, and a market area featuring local products.
Newbury Pride supports the LGBTQIA+ community in Newbury and West Berkshire. Entirely volunteer led, they are committed to a world free of hate, prejudice and discrimination. They are dedicated to breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and fostering understanding within and beyond the community.
They work closely with other charities and support organisations, as well as the local authorities to put on a major annual Pride. Throughout the rest of the year they also organise smaller events on a regular or ad hoc basis. These can include social gatherings at a local pub or at a coffee shop or café, or even drag bingo. Most important of all, they also provide education and informational resources to benefit the entire community.
