British Drawings and Watercolours Including The Russell Worby Collection | 19th Century Pictures & Works on Paper | 4 November 2026

On Wednesday 4 November, we are pleased to present our 19th Century Pictures & Works on Paper auction. The sale features a distinguished selection of paintings, drawings and watercolours, including works from the collection of artist and collector Russell Worby (1954–2025). Carefully assembled over many years, Worby’s collection reflects his deep appreciation for the art of drawing and the development of British watercolour, with works by leading figures including Paul Sandby, David Cox, Edward Dayes, Anthony Devis, Thomas Rowlandson and John Varley. Alongside these works, the auction traces the rich development of British works on paper, from 18th Century topographical drawing and satire to the Picturesque and the flourishing of the Golden Age of English watercolours.
