Auction Results | Modern Design & Decorative Art | 15 October 2025

On Wednesday 15 October, we held our auction of Modern Design & Decorative Art. The sale featured furniture, lighting, ceramics, glassware, rugs, sculpture, and other works of art from all the major design movements of the 20th and 21st centuries. It offered contemporary style, clever design, and unique, standout pieces that represented the epitome of modern luxury in interiors. For this auction, we were delighted to collaborate with British Designer Faye Toogood, as well as Martine de Cervens of London Gallery Themes & Variations, whose expertise enriched our exploration of modern and contemporary design.

Commenting on the results, Head of Modern Design & Decorative Art, Gemma Sanders, said, “There were exceptional results for design masters such as Alvar Aalto, Charles and Ray Eames, and Lloyd Wright Jr., and equally strong prices for British design craftsmen David Linley, Silverlining, and Philip Hearsey. A selection of Erté drawings from the artist’s own archive also performed particularly well. With busy viewings in London and Newbury, and strong bidding from the US, Switzerland, France, and the UK, the sale was a huge success.”

Here we take a look at some of the highlights.
