On Wednesday 12 & Thursday 13 November, we were pleased to present our Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art auction. The sale offered a fascinating selection of pieces that demonstrated the brilliance of traditional Chinese craftsmanship. Highlights included an exceptionally rare and large Dehua figure of Guanyin which was distinguished by its impressive size, fine modelling and delicate posture; as well as a pair of fine Chinese gilt bronze and cinnabar lacquer bowls and covers.

With strong interest from around the world, the sale delivered exceptional results, achieving a total of £1.5 million, 206% of the presale estimate. Reflecting on the outcome, Dreweatts’ Specialist in Chinese and Asian Art, Yingwen Tao, remarked, "We are delighted to see the sale demonstrated a truly global and competitive market for Asian Art. Exquisite masterpieces with solid provenance, such as the Dehua Guanyin, generated fierce competition and achieved outstanding results."
