Selling at Dreweatts is a simple process. Our team of specialists are on hand to guide you through the steps with professionalism and transparency offering free valuations by email or by appointment at one of our offices. The first stage is to contact the relevant specialist who will provide you with a free auction valuation and advise you on the next appropriate auction for your property. Our specialists will provide well researched and comprehensive auction estimates in line with current market prices and trends.

The easiest way to receive a valuation is to complete our online valuation form, upload images of the item to be valued and provide any additional information.

THE SELLING PROCESS

Once you have received your valuation and you have decided to proceed to auction, we ask that you sign and return your receipt,  which will form your contract with Dreweatts and outlines the agreed fees. Your property will be held at Donnington Priory to be catalogued, photographed and researched, where necessary, in preparation for the allocated sale.

One month before the date of the auction you will receive a pre-sales advice notice which will inform you of the auction title, date and time in which your property will appear. In addition, the pre-sale notice will show the full cataloguing for your property. Dreweatts has an extensive UK and international audience with a strong online presence streaming our auctions live on our own and other third party online bidding platforms.

We provide high resolution images for all the lots in our sale which are published both in our printed catalogue and online. Prospective buyers may request condition reports for any of the lots offered in our auctions.

VENDOR FEES

Our fees structure is straightforward with no additional or hidden charges.  

Vendor commission for Dreweatts traditional and timed online auctions:

  • 15% of the hammer price up to £1,500; 10% of the hammer price from £1,501 and above
  • Loss and damage warranty: 1.5% of the hammer price
  • Illustration charges: range from £10-100 per lot, depending on the low estimates
  • Minimum charges: £10 per lot for traditional auctions and £5 per lot for online auctions
  • Unsold charges: we do not charge fees for unsold lots

All the above charges are subject to VAT.

Vendor receives – £1,143.00

PAYMENT

Vendors will receive their payment 28 days after the sale by cheque or bank transfer. If you wish to receive payment by bank transfer please provide us with your bank details.
