Dreweatts’ London office is on Pall Mall, St James’s, where weekly Valuation Days and exhibitions of auction highlights are held.

Jonathan Pratt – Managing Director, Dreweatts 1759 Ltd
Jonathan Pratt was appointed Managing Director of Dreweatts 1759 in August 2018.
He studied Fine Art & Chattels Valuation before working in Edinburgh at Philips Auctioneers as a furniture porter. There followed a move to Phillips in Guildford, then roles as a valuer both at a London valuation company and at Dreweatts before he joined Sotheby’s Sussex in 2002.
In 2005 Jonathan became Managing Director of Bellmans where he oversaw a five fold increase in the firm’s turnover and introduced a streamlined three-tier sale system.
Jonathan is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and he makes regular appearances on the BBC’s Bargain Hunt and Flog It.
George Bailey – Chairman, Dreweatts 1759 Ltd
George Bailey has 40 years’ experience in the auction world having joined Bonhams in 1978. From 1979-2014 he worked at Sotheby’s where he held a number of senior management roles namely as Managing Director Sotheby’s Europe from 1993 to 2005 and then as Chairman, European Business Development, Sotheby’s Europe until 2014.
In 2014 George was appointed as Chairman, The Fine Art Auction Group, and in his present role of Chairman, Dreweatts 1759, he works from both Donnington Priory and Dreweatts’ Pall Mall office in London.
George is responsible for developing new business and auctions with the specialist teams and acts as the key contact for Dreweatts’ clients and their advisors advising on all elements of single owner auctions and collections.
