Weston Hall and the Sitwells: A Family Legacy
Tuesday 16 & Wednesday 17 November | 10.30am GMT
A royal portrait by the Italian-English artist Maria Cosway (1759-1838) takes centre stage as Susanna Sitwell takes us on a journey to explore the relationships and the stories which enabled this picture to come to Weston Hall and remain there in its present state for the last 200 years. From embellishments by Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) to the work eventually being gifted to Lady Glenbervie (1760-1817) it is indeed rare for a single object to encompass such an illustrious past!
