Elegant Silver for the Breakfast Table

The auction includes a wonderful selection of silver coffee pots, each bringing timeless elegance and sophistication to the breakfast table. Among the highlights is a Victorian silver coffee pot by Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard, London in 1842. It was presented to the Reverend William Walrond Jackson by the inhabitants of Saint Lucy's Parish, Barbados, to commemorate the first two years of his ministry. Rich in both craftsmanship and provenance, the engraved presentation inscription offers a fascinating glimpse into its history.

Also of note is a Victorian wrythen baluster coffee pot by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd., London, 1900. Raised on shell and stepped pad feet with a distinctive wrythen body and elegant scroll handle, it exemplifies the quality and decorative appeal of late Victorian silver.

Representing a more restrained twentieth century aesthetic, the tapering silver coffee pot by Harrison Brothers & Howson, Sheffield, 1934 demonstrates clean lines and refined proportions. Featuring a compressed orb finial and wooden scroll handle, it reflects the elegant simplicity of the period.

Silver by Candlelight

The selection of silver continues with two fine pairs of Victorian silver candlesticks by the renowned Sheffield silversmiths Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. This pair dating to 1855 displays beautifully chased husk swags and medallions to the square bases, complemented by urn shaped capitals and beaded circular sconces.

Reflecting the enduring popularity of this classical design, a later pair by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. Ltd., dating to 1895, features similar proportions, enriched with chased husk and flower medallion bands. Both pairs exemplify the exceptional craftsmanship and decorative refinement for which Victorian silver remains so highly prized by collectors today.

Timeless Designs from Omega

The auction also presents a stylish selection of wristwatches from Omega, showcasing the Swiss manufacturer's reputation for precision, innovation and timeless design.

Highlights include an 18 carat gold Omega De Ville lady's wristwatch dating to circa 1990, celebrated for its refined elegance, alongside an 18 carat gold Omega Constellation Quadra lady's wristwatch, which exemplifies the sophisticated styling of one of the brand's most iconic collections.

The sale also features an Omega Seamaster bi-colour bracelet watch with date, circa 1980, offering the versatility for which the Seamaster line is renowned. Completing the selection are a 9-carat gold Omega wristwatch hallmarked Birmingham, 1960, and a gold plated Omega wristwatch presented on a gold bangle, each reflecting the quality craftsmanship and style that have made Omega a favourite among collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.

Historic Gold Coinage and Medals

The auction also features a distinguished selection of gold coins and medals, spanning royal, historical and international examples. Among the highlights is a remarkable proof gold medal commemorating the life of Sir Winston Churchill, produced by F. Kovacs after Low for Spink & Son. Struck in 22 carat gold and presented in its original fitted case with certificate, the medal features a portrait of Churchill alongside symbols of his literary and artistic achievements. The reverse depicts a soldier standing resolute against the Luftwaffe, accompanied by the powerful inscription ‘VERY WELL, ALONE’.

Further highlights include a Victorian gold five pounds coin dated 1887, celebrating the reign of Queen Victoria, alongside an Austrian Franz Josef I gold restrike 100-corona dated 1915. The selection is completed by a group of American gold coins, including two gold double eagles from 1897 and 1904, a gold eagle from 1893, and three Indian Head half eagles, offering collectors an opportunity to acquire a diverse range of historic gold coinage from across the world.
