More than 200 lots have been consigned to Dreweatts' Transport Sale which takes place on Thursday 28 May 2020.
For model locomotive enthusiasts, the sale presents a unique opportunity to purchase more than 50 models, ranging from gauge 1 up to 7 ¼ gauge.
To help get you started, our Live Steam and Model Engineering specialist, Michael Matthews, has chosen six models he expects to garner plenty of attention during the sale.
Little is known about the provenance of this 5 inch gauge model, but the striking Southern Railway livery and its good condition caught Michael’s eye during the appraisals.

Construction of this 7 1/4 inch gauge British Railways Class 4T 2-6-4 tank locomotive was first started by Mr R Cheal of Bath.
After completing the frames, wheels, cylinders, coupling and connecting rods to a high standard, Mr Cheal was forced to retire from the build in poor health. Shortly after Mr T Dixon of Southwick took over and saw the build of this exquisite locomotive through to completion.

The model has never been steamed and comes together with firing tools, boiler instructions and the relevant certificates. Michael has given this locomotive a presale estimate of £15,000 - £20,000 (+ fees).

This fine exhibition-standard locomotive was built to the works drawings by award-winning designer Mr Ian Holder and originally marketed by Reeves of Birmingham.

Despite its exquisite condition, the Mogul locomotive has never been exhibited and has never been steamed. With this in mind Michael has given it a presale estimate of £15,000 - £20,000 (+ fees).
