Auction Results | Modern & Contemporary Art | Wednesday 23 October 2024

On Wednesday 23 October, Dreweatts held its third auction of Modern and Contemporary Art of 2025.  Following the auction Francesca Whitham, Head of Sale, commented:

“We are extremely pleased with the encouraging results in our Autumn edition of the Modern & Contemporary auction. Competitive bidding from across the globe, both trade and private created an exciting atmosphere achieving particularly strong prices for House on the Surrey Canal by Algernon Newton (Lot 97) and the portrait of model Juanita Forbes by Pietro Anigonni (Lot 90). These strong results reiterate the buoyancy in the market for interesting works coming fresh to the market with solid provenance. Other highlights included David Hockney’s Coloured Curtain Study (Lot 190) and Nic Fiddian-Green’s striking lead horse head (Lot 218).”
