Dreweatts launched their 2018 sales calendar with a spectacular Private Single Owner auction which took place over three days at Donnington Priory. The auction realised £1,173,685 with 95% of lots sold by volume.
Assembled over 30 years from the mid-1970s the auction comprised 750 luxurious lots of antiques and objects of desire from Europe, the Orient and the Middle East. Estimates ranged from £60 to £10,000 and this unique auction featured silver, ceramics, furniture, pictures, antiquities, works of art, leather accessories and glassware from antiquity to the late 20th century.
James Nicholson, Deputy Chairman, Dreweatts, and specialist in charge of the auction commented, 'This collection was an auctioneer's dream, right from the moment we discovered it in unpacked boxes and bags in a warehouse after being stored for 20 years or more. The breadth and range of lots on offer was truly breath taking and it was a hugely exciting privilege for Dreweatts to present this eclectic and fascinating collection at auction. We are beyond thrilled with the results...which was more than enthusiastically received and bid on by buyers from all corners of the globe'.
