On Thursday 1 October, we presented our inaugural At Home sale, our new series of monthly auctions dedicated to putting the flair back into selling the very best decorative items at auction. The sale featured the collection of the late esteemed decorative artist George Oakes (1927-2017) and his wife, Judith. A key figure in the development of the English Country House style. This carefully curated sale achieved a total of £297,000, reaching 185% of its pre-sale estimate.

Commenting on the results, Head of the House Sales and Private Collections Department Joe Robinson said “It has been brilliant to see our inaugural At Home auction so warmly received and it was a pleasure to have House & Garden rising star Joshua Hale involved in launching this exciting new series. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to put a flair back into selling the 'decorative' at auction . Our specialists are delighted to advise clients on consignments for future At Home sales and to help bring original pieces to a renewed audience.”
