With four Fine Furniture and six Interiors auctions held annually the department handles the full spectrum of the market, and possesses the well-earned reputation for being one of the leading regional furniture salerooms in the country, with broad experience in both the UK and internationally.
The Fine Furniture auctions feature rare antique furniture representing the best examples of their type and period, selected to interest a global audience; typically estimates range from £1,000 up to £100,000 for the most important pieces.
The Interiors auctions will appeal to buyers with a passion for interior decorating as well as those looking for unique vintage items.
From antique furniture for the connoisseur collector to decorative objects for the home in period style, we offer pieces from a wide age range and across all price points, which can be acquired more competitively when compared with furniture offered on the high street.
We offer furniture by some of the best known makers in the field, notably Chippendale, George Bullock and Gillows, spanning the 17th to the early 20th century and offering examples from throughout Britain, Europe and the rest of the world.
Significant pieces of English and Continental furniture also appear in our renowned single owner sales and collections. Recent auctions include The Selected Contents of Kingstone Lisle Park, Oxfordshire; Abbotswood, Gloucestershire: Selected Contents and The Collection of the Late Ian Askew.
Other private collections are also included as dedicated sections in Interiors and Fine Furniture sales.
Hand woven rugs and carpets regularly appear in auctions of Fine Furniture and Interiors.
We offer pieces designed to complement all settings and furnishing styles, with hand woven creations from Persia (Iran), and the other main rug and carpet manufacturers throughout Europe, including Savonnerie and Aubusson in France and Axminster in England.
