William Golding “W.G. Golding”
William Golding W.G. Golding, Poems, with contemporary autograph letter signed by the author [London, Macmillan, 1934]
complete, a few very faint scattered spots, original pale blue printed wrappers, original stitching, top and inner edges a little darkened, small ink mark to upper cover, overall excellent copy, 8vo; together with a signed autograph letter to Miss Hughes, both housed in modern blue cloth-backed drop-box
An excellent copy of Golding's first published work, along with a contemporary autograph letter to a Miss Hughes about an upcoming reading of his poetry for a society, where he asks her if he could read unpublished material: Could you let me know whether only published poems are to be read, or whether I may include more recent, and, I think, better ones?.
