Russell Mount studied architecture in London and in Edinburgh. He then worked on a dissertation concerning ideas in the contemporary theory of architecture. Both before and after his period of research Russell accumulated five years in professional practice in two architect’s studios in London, where he worked on domestic interiors.

For Bloomsbury Auctions, Russell mostly works with books on art and architecture. Canonical texts in philosophy are also a particular interest.

When not working on upcoming auctions, Russell studies the manuscripts of Vitruvius’ De architecture and the early printed editions of the text; also of the early printed editions of Alberti’s De re aedificatoria.
