H.M. The Queen Triumphs in Dreweatts Handicap Stakes
H.M. The Queen triumphed in the Dreweatts 1759 Handicap Stakes at Newbury on Friday 19th April, with her horse Sign Manual winning after a photo-finish.
Success in the two-mile race sponsored by Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions, came right on the line just ahead of the 7/2 favourite Lieutenant Miller, after a switch to the outside of the field by jockey Hayley Turner.
Speaking after making the presentation to the Queen, Dreweatts Deputy Chairman Will Richards commented: “As sponsors for a third consecutive year at Newbury Races, we were delighted with the result. It was an honour to present Her Majesty with the winner's trophy".
