WWF Charity Wine Auction in association with Caelestis
24 Maddox Street, London W1S 1PP

27 November 2012, 7.00 pm

Five exclusive lots of Cælestis biodynamic* wine have been created for auction

in honour of the vital conservation work of the WWF.

Each Cælestis bottle is presented in a special handcrafted case made of recycled centenary wood and accompanied by an inspiring nature photograph dedicated by the CEO of WWF-UK.

Cælestis created history among prestigious vineyards of Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés (Classified Growth) by launching this initiative in celebration of WWF’s recent 50th anniversary.

Cælestis’ excellent vintage 2009 (widely considered as the best Bordeaux vintage of recent times) originates from the prestigious Château Fonroque Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. Renowned producer and oenologist Alain Moueix has dedicated the collection: “This vine stock captures the music of the stars and the vitality of the soil allowing me to create a truly authentic and harmonious wine.

Out of a total of 176 Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés, there are only 4 organic wines (including 3 bio-dynamic wines) making Cælestis one of the rarest bio-dynamic Grands Crus Classés wines. Its symbolic and original label is dedicated by the Oscar-winning composer, JAN A.P. KACZMAREK who is also the founder of the “Transatlantyk – Poznan International Film & Music Festival: “Pure wine brings great inspiration to my music.

The fruit of Kaczmarek’s inspiration – an original composition entitled “Cælestis Impromtu – was donated to Cælestis and will be heard for the first time in public before the Cælestis auction begins.

The event will be introduced by Alain Moueix of Château Fonroque with Patrick Laine from WWF-UK.

*Bio-dynamic wines are ecological wines produced without any artificial chemical fertilisers, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides and without the use of additives in wine. Bio-dynamic viticulture and the processing of the grapes go beyond organic standards in that they are treated as a holistic system including the influence of cosmos.
