Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions are unique in the auction market in offering specialist auctions of Live Steam Models and Model Engineering Works of Art. Over the past twenty years these sales have grown and developed, so making this category a high profile and headline hitting part of the business.

We are privileged to have offered some very fine collections, including the Salem Collection of Live Steam Locomotives, (April 2012), which hailed from Geneva and was offered at Dreweatts, Donnington Priory. The sale attracted worldwide interest and a world record price of £170,800 was achieved for a 7 ¼ inch gauge model of The Duchess of Buccleuch (showing above), built by the late Mr Harry Powell of Crewe. More recently, auctions of The Witheridge Collection of 7 ¼ inch Locomotives, (Sept. 2013), from Norfolk, and The Pete Waterman Collection of Gauge 1 to 7 ¼ inch gauge models (April 2015) took place. From the Waterman Collection, a model of a 7 ¼ inch gauge Great Western Railways Locomotive, Caerphilly Castle, realised £124,000, with the whole auction achieving a final total close to £650K.
