Collection of charters , in Latin and French, single sheet manuscripts on parchment [France, fourteenth and fifteenth centuries]

5 documents: (a) small charter, Raymond VII, vicecount of Turenne, granting quittance to William Chanter for services to the king of France on the Flemish border, 3 long lines, small remnants of wax seal at base, some spots and holes and with seal tag (once cut in strip from bottom) now sewn to the main document, the whole mounted on paper, 47 by 192mm., dated 16 October 1303; (b) large document recording that Katherine Bridere, widow of Thomas Charbonnel, transfers to Ysabelle Charbonnel, widow of William Boyn, a riverside estate which had been leased by her deceased husband, 47 long lines, one penwork initial, seal tag but no seal, some splits to edges and folded across middle, 340+10 by 225mm., Angoumois, dated 1347; (c) record of a sale to the Abbey of F├ęchamp in Cotentin, in French, noting lands owned by the lords of Morsalines and Valcanville, 11 long lines, seal tag folded back through foot of document, but seal wanting, 122 by 228mm., clean condition, dated Harfleur, Normandy, 14 July 1413; (d) long and thin document commanding the receiver to deliver 100 livres in currency to Jean Lebault from the royal coffers, 7 long lines, remnants of 4 red wax seals, small split to outer edge, 78 by 315mm., dated Bourges, 10 February 1433; (e) receipt from Claude Seguin for 20 sous for lands on River Sumguhas, from Regnault Fevre, a priest, 8 long lines, signed by both parties, 61 by 237mm., Angoumois, dated 29 May 1480; all in green paper folders with nineteenth-century descriptions in French pasted to outside (there numbered 353, 213, 165, 218 and 147 respectively)

Lots marked with a delta symbol (δ) are subject to the Artist's Resale Right Law.The buyer agrees to pay Bloomsbury Auctions an amount equal to the resale royalty and we will pay such amount to the artist's collecting agent. Resale royalty applies where the Hammer price is 1,000 Euros or more and the amount cannot be more than 12,500 Euros per lot. The amount is calculated as follows:

Invoices will, as usual, be issued in Pounds Sterling. For the purposes of calculating the resale royalty the Pounds Sterling/ Euro rate of exchange will be the European Central Bank reference rate on the day of the sale.
