⁂ The third of the James Bond films, Goldfinger was an iconic example of the series not least for the famous scene of Shirley Eaton in gold paint, murdered by 'skin suffocation'. Eaton had originally only been willing to take on the role if the nudity was handled sensitively; it famously took 1½ hours to apply the gold paint to her body and despite the relatively brief time on screen, the image of her painted gold graced the cover of Life magazine in November of that year.
