4 vol., half-title, titles in red and black, 75 engraved plates (39 folding), light offsetting, a few plates with repairs to verso or short tears to margin, ink inscription to endpaper 'Mary Elizabeth Fox given to her by Mr ?[Samuel] Rogers, 1814 at Florence', bookplates of Lord Lilford and Lilford Library to pastedowns, contemporary half calf, spines gilt, vol.2 upper hinge split, spine becoming loose, corners bumped, 12mo, Amsterdam, Chez Clousier et al. , 1743.
⁂ Initially based on the experience of his own Grand Tour, Misson's Voyage was expanded and elaborated through a number of editions, and gives a likeable and lively account of the Italy of his day.
