lacks the frontispiece, ink initials on title, long provenance notes on fly-leaf, and on slip pasted to paste-down, some spotting. contemporary half calf, worn, upper cover loose, 8vo, Exeter, R. Trewman, 1777.

Provenance: 'This Book belonged to Lieutenant Christopher Farewell Kellaway, an honest Man, an able Seaman & a gallant Officer…cut in two by a French cannon shot' while commanding H.M.S. Shrewsbury, his captain having lost a leg, in the Battle of the Chesapeake between the British and French fleets on 5th September 1781, subsequently owned by the Rev. Jsohua Larwood, Chaplain of the Shrewsbury and later of H.M.S. Britannia, 'exceded by none in the Hilarity and Philanthropy of his disposition…' , and Robert Bygrave (notes).
