Sur la Proposition faicte par le sieur Morin pour l'invenrion des Longitudes, woodcut device on title, with the final blank, 1634 bound with Lettres Escrites au Sr. Morin, par les plus celebres Astronomes de France; approuvans son invention des Longitudes, for the author and Jean Libert, 1635, together 2 works in 1 vol., first editions , the second a little browned and water-stained, also cropped with slight loss to side-notes, later half vellum, small 8vo, Paris
⁂ The first is the official examination of Morin's suggestion of how to solve the longitude problem, by a lunar distance method. The proposal was rejected, prompting the second work defending Morin's idea. Etienne Pascal was the father of Blaise Pascal.
