quibus accedit Methodus Longitudinum Promota…, [edited by Nevil Maskelyne], 2 parts in 1, first edition , tables, Contents/errata leaf and 2 folding engraved plates at end, some light browning, marginal staining to a couple of leaves, marginal tears to O1 and Cc2, Margaret Maskelyne's copy with her bookplate and corrections in ink to text with note stating so on front pastedown (presumably in her hand), also book-label of Haskell F.Norman, contemporary tree calf, rubbed, rebacked, 4to, G. & J.Richardson…, 1770.
⁂ Margaret Maskelyne (1786-1858) was the daughter of Nevil Maskelyne, the editor of these famous tables, for which Mayer's widow received a prize of 'a33000 from the Board of Longitude.
