Containing, Complete and Easy Instructions for the Discovery of Longitude at Sea and Land, within a Degree, by Observations of the Distance of the Moon from the Sun and Stars, taken with Hadley's Quadrant, first edition , astronomical tables at end, one folding, presentation copy from the author with contemporary ink inscription "Conolly Hodgson A Present from the Author July 29th 1767 Greenwich" on title and with a few annotations to text, rather soiled and stained throughout, O3 lacking strip affecting text (repaired with facsimile text and mounted on stub), one or two other repairs, folding table lacking one column at fore-edge (supplied in facsimile), contemporary calf, rubbed, rebacked with gilt spine and red calf label, corners repaired, small 4to, for the Author, 1763.
