and the Oxus and Terek and Indian Ocean on the North and South, showing Iran and its environs, engraved map, outline hand-colouring, on 2 sheets, each c.1010 x 640mm., dissected and linen-backed, folding, both inscribed in ink 'Major Wyndham 67th Foot, 1822' on verso, some offsetting, browning, and surface dirt, [BLMC Maps 46900.(11.)], published by the engraver, 1813.
Colonel Charles Wyndham entered the army as Cornet in the 10th Light Dragoons, 1811. On the 20th December 1821 he was promoted to Major in the 67th Regiment of Foot. He served under Lord Wellington between 1812 and 1813 during the Peninsular campaign of the Napoleonic Wars.
