A Victorian patinated and lacquered brass monocular microscope, late 19th century, the tube with coarse focus adjustment via rack and pinion mounting to the cylindrical limb upright incorporating knurled screw for fine focus over plain stage with pivoted plano-concave mirror beneath, mounted via a pivot joint onto a looped Y-shaped patinated brass foot inscribed HENRY CROUCH, LONDON, 5949 to rear, in original mahogany box with some accessories including additional objective lens and two eyepieces, a triple nosepiece carriage and a small selection of prepared botanical slides bearing paper labels for H.W.H. DARLASTON, BIRMINGHAM, PREPARER, BIRCHFIELD , the box 30cm high.
