A pair of Regency bronze and glass lustre hung candlesticks, circa 1815
Sold for £150
A pair of Regency bronze and glass lustre hung candlesticks, circa 1815, the urn sockets on drip pans cast as downturned vineleaves, hung with faceted glass beads and pendants, on stems cast as trees rising behind recumbent deer, on rectangular foliate cast bases, 24cm high
The bronzes have a dark, almost black patina which is much lightened at the exposed extremities.
The drip pans are separately cast and lift out. They are probably original.
The glass lustre drops are all present. They seem a little long and therefor might be later replacements. Thid could be rectified by the removal of one glass bead from each lustre.
The los is in basically good order overall
