A French gilt and patinated brass four glass mantel clock, retailed by J. Hartmann, Berlin, late 19th century, the eight-day bell striking movement stamped with Marti et Cie, MEDAILLE D'ARGENT roundel to backplate, the convex gilt rosette centred Arabic numeral dial inscibed JOH'S HARTMANN. BERLIN. U.d. LINDEN 48/49 to chapter ring, the bevel glazed case with twin handled urn surmount raised on a moulded box upstand above elaborate inset double baluster columns to the front angles, on skirt base with gilt foliate cast ogee top moulding and squab feet with ribbon tied flaming torch mount to the shaped front apron between, 42cm (16.5ins) high.
Strikes ok Has 2 pendulums- neither are for this clock, could no doubt use an overhaul and clean and will need to be matched with an appropriate pendulum to run this clock No serious damage detected to case
