A Victorian rosewood and mother-of-pearl inlaid correspondence box, late 19th century, of typical rectangular form, the hinged cover with two slots and with mother-of-pearl plaques inscribed 'Answered' and 'Unanswered' within an egg-and-dart carved outer edge, the interior with a central division, 10cm high, 23cm wide

The box is made of faux rosewood rather than rosewood as catalogued
Two pieces of veneer repaired to bottom right corner and to back of lid over hinge - see photos
Inlay is present and okay
Dirty to interior but with original paper
Base is cracked along length
