A well engineered 3 1/2 inch gauge model of London & North Eastern Railway Class K1 2-6-0 tender locomotive Macailin Mor , 3445 , built by Dr John B. Sayer of Worthing to the Thompson rebuild of the K4, the copper, round top, silver soldered boiler from Western Steam with tubular feedwater heaters in smoke box for axle and hand pumps, the fittings including water and pressure gauges, blower, injector, steam brakes, whistle and clack valve, the chassis detail including twin outside cylinders of 1 1/8 inch bore by 1 1/2 inch stroke, with Walschaert's valve gear to slide valves, drain cocks, ratchet type lubricator, whistle, steam brake gear, and detailed rivet-work, the cab with fitted gauges, water sight-glass, regulator, and reverse control, the six-wheel tender with fittings including hand-operated feed pump, water cock, hand brake, steps and handrails, finished in lined green and black livery with polished brightwork, 118cm long, the cab 19cm wide.
Boiler History: Past boiler history dating from 1995, with original boiler certificate issued by Western Steam Model Engineers of Weston-super-Mare, and Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies certificate of hydraulic test No.115836. Valid until 12 th April 2015. Test pressure 135 psi. Working pressure 80psi. Steam test certificate No.ST128592, expired the 3 rd May 2012. Worthing & District SME.
