[Photographs]. AVIATION. Regia Aeronautica. An unusual collection of official, propaganda, manufacturer's and private images of Italian Air Force aircraft and personnel operational during the Second World War, including Mussolini and senior officers reviewing a Squadron of Fiat BR.20 bombers, numerous examples of this type on parade and airborne, various reconnaissance images of Malta, including the harbour with Royal Navy warships present, Field-Marshal Milch of the Luftwaffe inspecting the Caproni works with Gianni Caproni present, a captured Blenheim at Lampedusa, downed Hawker Hurricanes,
Savoia-Marchetti S.M.79's over Malta with the pilot and bomb-aimer shown at their stations, formations of Junkers Ju.87's, Cant 1007 tri-motor bombers in action, the Macchi M-202, Cant flying boats, including one with Red Cross markings, some fine air-to-air aircraft portraits, various Caproni types, including the Ca.314 with underslung torpedo, details of the S.M.-79 including a fine image of one flying through flak during a torpedo attack, and many others of similar interest; together with nine images of post-fascist period U.S. and other loan aircraft including Bell Aircobra, North American Mustang and others, (approximately 105 images, in a folder).
