Furniture, Interiors and Works of Art
Dreweatts and Bloomsbury Auctions has a well-earned reputation as one of the leading regional furniture and works of art salerooms in the country, with a broad expertise both in the UK and the international markets.
The department holds a monthly Interiors auction which includes Furniture, Carpets, Paintings, Clocks, Ceramics and Works of Art, as well as a bi-annual specialist Fine Furniture auction with carefully selected items. Through our sales, we are pleased to be able to offer a full range of high quality antiques and decorative objects for the home and garden.
The sales contain a wide variety of items, covering a range of age and estimated value. A typical auction will contain items dating back to the 17th century and then right through the 18th and 19th centuries to items of a high standard made more recently in period style. We offer works by key makers and designers such as Chippendale, George Bullock and Gillows, high Victorian and 19th century decorative pieces by designers such as Pugin and Continental and Anglo-Colonial works. Our specialists also cover English and Continental works of art such as bronzes and sculpture including Grand Tour items, French 19th century bronzes, lighting, Tunbridge Ware, caddies and treen as well as rugs, carpets, textiles and garden statuary.
In addition, we hold numerous successful Estate Sales and ‘full house contents’ sales throughout the year, either on-location or at our auction rooms. These are very popular in the current market, where buyers have access to many relics, old and new, often are viewable amongst their existing surroundings.
Our broad range of specialists covering all auction disciplines ensures that everything within a property, from furniture, paintings and carpets, through to books and jewellery, can be given the attention they deserve.
