Asian Ceramics and Works of Art

Dr. Benedetta Mottino holds a D.Phil (Ph.D) and Masters degree in Chinese Archaeology, respectively from the University of Oxford and the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. She has a Diploma in Asian Art from the British Museum and a BA (Hons) degree in Chinese Studies from Ca' Foscari University in Venice. Benedetta has had broad ranging exposure across the art market, having previously curated a private Asian Art collection in France, the Art Department of Michelangelo Pistoletto's Contemporary Art and Fashion Foundation in Italy, and worked in the Asian and East Asian Art Departments of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Benedetta continues to be academically active in the field of Chinese Archaeology, participating and lecturing at numerous international conferences. Through Benedetta, we are pleased to be able to offer clients a highly academic approach to analysing and advising on collections, imperative to the evolution of selectivity within the market for Asian Ceramics and Works of Art. Clients will benefit from curatorial and authentication services in addition to our more familiar provision of auction and insurance valuations. Benedetta is fluent in Italian, English, French, Spanish and Mandarin and regularly attends our busy valuation days around the country.
